What's included

Learn the basics of this sport with one of activities team and hopefully land a brown trout! Kit is provided and you and if you feel confident you can continue to fish after the lesson that day included in the price of £50.00 per person. Maximum 4 guests per session due to the space required around the lake. lessons are between 1 to 1.5 hours depending on guest numbers.

For those who are more experienced but wanting to refine and improve casting techniques, instruction can be booked with our ghillie subject to availability. These sessions are minimum of 2 hours and start from £140.00 per person for a private lesson, or book with 2 or more friends and family, and pay £95 per person!
Guiding can be arranged for experienced anglers on the Upper Teign river or on Fernworthy reservoir.

If you have your own kit, then you can get a permit to fish onsite on the lake and the stretch of the river Bovey from reception. The river Bovey is quite a narrow stretch and some places are shallow enough to fish in welly boots, but for experienced anglers only please.

Permits for the stretch of the Upper Teign can be purchased from reception, with the opportunity to fish for brown trout, sea trout and even salmon at certain parts of the year. This is about a 10 minute drive from the hotel, and part way down the river is the Fingle Bridge pub to make a day of it!
