Hidden away on the Bovey Castle estate is our small clays shooting venue. Aimed at beginners and novice shooters, it is an opportunity to try your hand at this exciting country pursuit. Full instruction is given and the activity is a very popular choice all year round as where you shoot from is undercover. We use single barrel silenced 410 shotguns. Traps are set up with an incoming and going away target so a great introduction to the sport. These shotguns have no recoil so no worries about a sore shoulder!

Line up your shot against the backdrop of the beautiful Devon moorland and watch your clays arc through the skies as you hone your technique. Clay pigeon shooting is also available a 30 minute drive from the main hotel.
Our clay pigeon shooting is offered with all equipment; guns, ammunition, safety glasses and hearing protection, we have a selection of guns to enable almost anyone to shoot comfortably. Although you can bring your own gun if you have one.
We cater for all levels, from the complete novice through to the experienced gun, family groups, corporate days, stag and hen parties as well as larger groups.

Due to the shoot’s location, there are no toilet facilities or shelter at this venue. The full fee will be charged if cancelled within 72 hours of the booked activity. Sensible outdoor clothing and footwear is recommended as Dartmoor has rather unpredictable weather! Please note that we have a minimum sign up of 2 guests. Minimum age is 15 years old.
