Christmas With Eden
December is our favourite time at the hotels and we can’t wait to deck the halls and get the mulled wine simmering. The aroma of roaring fires mingling with the fresh smell of pine from the Christmas trees is really quite magical and we’re keen to get the celebrations started.
Everyone knows that Christmas is all about the food, and food has always been at the heart of our hotels. Our award-winning chefs across the collection spend most of the year dreaming up even more indulgent ways of spoiling our guests with their Christmas menus and this year looks to be no exception.

CHRISTMAS AT BOVEY CASTLE
CHRISTMAS EVE
Arrive at Bovey Castle for a host of festive activities including a visit to our Long Barn for cider and sloe gin making, then join us for afternoon tea accompanied by carol singing. Your first evening includes welcome drinks and a five course dinner, accompanied by our house pianist.
CHRISTMAS DAY
Awake to a traditional breakfast followed by a visit from Father Christmas with gifts for our younger guests. Then why not enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery on the estate by trying out our brass rubbing trail. The revelry begins with a drinks reception followed by a fabulous Christmas Day lunch in the Great Western Grand Grill accompanied by a harpist. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the King’s speech which will be shown in the lounges with tea and mince pies. An informal buffet dinner will be served in the evening. Then retire to the Oak Bar for a Cognac or two.
BOXING DAY
Following breakfast sign up for the golf tournament, join us for a guided walk, or take part in our treasure hunt around the Castle and grounds. In the afternoon our much-loved ferret racing is a firm favourite, as is our ‘nearest the pin’ golf competition on the South Terrace, served with hot chocolate or mulled wine. Family activities are available all day. A savoury and sweet afternoon tea will also be served in our lounges throughout the afternoon with a magician and jazz band to entertain. A high tea will be available for young children. Finish your day with a cocktail reception and five course dinner in the Great Western Grand Grill (dress code – cocktail wear) followed by entertainment from a singer in our Cathedral room.

Enjoy a full English breakfast before bidding a fond farewell.

New Year at Bovey Castle
NEW YEAR’S EVE
Arrive for a fabulous afternoon tea served in one of our beautiful lounges, accompanied by a harpist. Relax in your room before dressing for our Black-Tie dinner. The festivities begin with a Champagne cocktail and canapé reception accompanied by a traditional piper, a six course gala dinner in the Great Western Grand Grill followed by live music then dancing. Toast in the New Year with a Glass of Champagne whilst watching the fantastic firework display from our South Terrace.
NEW YEAR’S DAY
After the previous night’s revelry enjoy a leisurely brunch. Blow away the cobwebs on a guided walk, take part in our treasure hunt around the castle and grounds, or play in our golf tournament. A savoury afternoon tea will be served where you will be entertained by a magician. This is followed by ferret racing and the ‘nearest the pin’ golf competition on the South Terrace. There will be family activities available during the day. Enjoy a cocktail reception prior to the New Year’s Day celebration, a 5 course dinner which will be served in the Great Western Grand Grill, accompanied by our pianist.

Join family and loved ones for a Christmas to remember. Nestled within our grounds, our superb 3-bedroom Estate lodges offer the independence of self-catering, whilst giving you access to Bovey Castle’s extensive facilities. Our lodge guests will have full use of our Smith’s Brasserie and Oak Bar during their stay, from afternoon tea on arrival to a fabulous three course Christmas Day Luncheon.
New Year Package
Celebrate the New Year with your very own exclusive House Party! Our superb self-catering Estate Lodges offer you the ideal space to celebrate with friends and family.
Cream tea will be in your lodge awaiting your arrival. Then dress for the evening’s festivities, commencing with a cocktail and canapé reception before being piped to a six course gala dinner, served in our Bovey and Mulberry rooms. Dance the night away to live music and at midnight bring in the New Year with a glass of Champagne whilst watching our fantastic firework display.

Our private dining rooms will be beautifully decorated, creating the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed Christmas celebration with colleagues, friends or family. Included is a 3 course meal with coffee, mince pies and table decorations.
