For a unique Christmas break, there’s no place like Bovey Castle. Our team has been working hard to ensure guests’ wellbeing and safety is at the forefront of everything we do and our hotel is accredited by The AA and Visit Britain, recognising that we are following COVID-19 Guidelines.

During the festive season, Bovey Castle transforms into a winter wonderland, with rooms illuminated by spectacular Christmas trees and plump armchairs nestled against tables laden with walnuts and oranges.

Whether you’re looking to unwind over Christmas in our Elan Spa with a festive pampering treatment or stay in one of our boutique bedrooms, there’s an experience for everyone at Bovey.

For the freedom to enjoy your festive holiday your way, why not explore our luxury private lodges. Located in the rolling grounds of Bovey Castle, our contemporary self-catering country lodges offer ensuite bedrooms (sleeping up to a maximum of six adults), a kitchen and open plan lounge and dining area that leads out to a private balcony with beautiful views across our estate.

Arrive at Bovey Castle on Christmas Eve ready to try a whole host of festive activities, before awakening on Christmas Day after a restful night’s sleep. Festive fun at the castle

There’s plenty of fun to be had on a stay at Bovey Castle this festive season.

Why not step back in time and enjoy a nostalgic trip down memory lane to the picturesque village of North Bovey on our Shire Horse and covered carriage tour. Take in the stunning Dartmoor scenery and local history and experience an exciting river crossing before returning back to the castle in style.

Then there’s our Christmas wreath making sessions for those who love getting creative or for foodies why not try The Tasting Room, an exclusive dining event at Bovey Castle.

The Tasting Room is a fantastic evening of sophisticated dining with a seven-course tasting menu specially curated by our Head Chef, Mark Budd. Held every Thursday to Sunday, choose your preferred time slot between 6.15pm – 7.30pm and get ready to enjoy a delicious evening for just £85 per person.

For the golf lovers, while the afternoon away on our championship 18-hole course or make the most of our on-site family activities such as our falconry display and ferret racing.

Explore Dartmoor this winter

Bovey Castle is idyllically situated in the heart of Dartmoor National Park, so take the opportunity to explore the area and visit local festive events in the surrounding towns and villages whilst you’re with us.

A fantastic way to explore a wintery Dartmoor is by foot, where you’ll be able to experience the rugged scenery at its finest. Embrace the wilderness on a trail through the tors, such as this moderate 14-mile route around Eastern Dartmoor.

For a ‘wild’ adventure, head to Dartmoor Zoo where you can experience their Christmas Zoo Nights. Their extended opening hours on selected dates in December will make your evenings merry and bright, creating magical memories as you follow their enchanting trail around the zoo.
