Bovey Castle Launches New Golf Shop and Members’ Area

Following a £160,000 investment, we have unveiled our newly refurbished golf shop designed to elevate the experience for members and guests. The shop now features a curated selection of premium golf brands - including Titleist, Peter Millar, Cobra, and Puma - offering exceptional quality and choice for golfers of all levels.

Adjacent to the shop, our upgraded members’ area now provides additional seating, a trophy display, a digital leaderboard, and an attractive outdoor seating area, creating a space where our golfing community can gather, relax, and celebrate.

This follows our recent £40,000 investment in an all-weather heated driving range, which has contributed to a 66% year-on-year increase in membership under the leadership of our PGA Golf Manager, Rob Selley.

As Rob explains: “Our goal is to create an inclusive, high-quality golf club experience for players of all ages and abilities. With our Championship course, expert coaching, and five-star hospitality, Bovey Castle is becoming a destination for both dedicated golfers and those new to the sport.”

To reflect our vision more clearly, we have formally named the club Bovey Castle Golf and Leisure Club, underscoring our ambition to be recognised not only for the quality of our facilities, but also for our sense of community and club spirit.

To mark the opening of the new facilities, we are launching our first series of three-day golf tuition breaks, taking place on 3 June, 1 July, and 9 September. These breaks offer personalised instruction covering swing technique, pitching, and putting, and conclude with an 18-hole round of golf. The experience is complemented by two nights of luxury accommodation and award-winning dining at the hotel.

For younger golfers, our “Get into Golf” Academy will continue to run two-hour coaching sessions every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday throughout the school holidays, welcoming both local juniors and young hotel guests.

As our General Manager, Dean Gunston, shares: “We’re seeing more guests, couples, families, and groups of friends choosing to include golf as part of their stay. This growing interest is helping to shape a very exciting future for Bovey Castle Golf and Leisure Club.”
