This year we are giving back to the community by supporting a pair of charity initiatives with essentials and gifts this Christmas.

Donating gift parcels to the Trussell Trust which supports people in food poverty – every time a room is booked on Christmas and New Year packages.

The award-winning hotel is also donating a wide range of gifts to Mission Christmas, which supports children in the community over the festive period, for every child who stays at the venue this Christmas.

Bovey Castle has 60 bedrooms in its manor house – along with 22 private lodges – which hotel bosses are aiming to sell out as part of its luxury Christmas and New Year packages.

Starting on Christmas Eve for three nights or New Year’s Eve for two nights, breaks can be tailored to romantic trips for couples, festive retreats with friends, or as a family holiday.

Dean Gunston, general manager at Bovey Castle, said the two initiatives would run alongside support for other local causes including South Dartmoor Community College and Coppelia House.

He said: “Being a family friendly business at the heart of our community, we don’t think anyone should go without some joy over the festive period. 

“So alongside supporting our usual local charities we have decided to support the Mission Christmas Cash for Kids appeal as well as the Trussel Trust food bank.

“We will donate a gift parcel to the Trussel Trust for every room booked on our Christmas & New Year packages, as well as donating a children’s gift to Mission Christmas for every child staying with us over the festive break.” Set within 275 acres of beautiful countryside in Dartmoor National Park, North Bovey, Bovey Castle is a 5 Red Star hotel owned by luxury hotel group The Eden Hotel Collection and offers fine dining in its 3AA Rosette Great Western Grill restaurant and 1AA Rosette Smith’s Brasserie; as well as its luxury Elan Spa experience.
