All our room rates include the following unless otherwise specified: VAT (at prevailing rate), tea and coffee making facilities in bedroom, Wi-Fi, luxury bathroom amenities, fluffy bathrobes and slippers, flat screen TV with music and pay-per-view films on demand, full use of our leisure spa, unlimited use of the putting green and croquet lawn, daily falconry display (weather permitting), and valet parking.

It is advisable to pre-book all dining, activities and the spa to avoid disappointment.

Every room includes a luxury bathrobe, slippers, complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer.

Bovey Castle is a dog friendly hotel, dogs are charged at £25 per night. This includes bedding and bowl (cages are available on request). Please note dogs must be 6+ months old. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurants, or the lounges but are allowed in our Cathedral Room.

With our valet parking and personal concierge to carry your bags, we provide our guests with an extra special service as soon as they arrive. We want everyone to feel relaxed at Bovey Castle – a home away from home.

Lodge stays and dining

Yes, all facilities at Bovey Castle are available for use.

Call our reservations team on 01647 445007 to book your lodge pack/s. 

Lodges will accommodate up to 8 people, with a maximum of 6 adults and 2 children. Children can be accommodated in a cot or extra bed at no additional charge.

Bovey Castle is a dog friendly hotel, and our lodges are the same. Dogs are charged at £25 per night and this includes bedding and bowl (cages are available on request). Please note dogs are not allowed in the restaurants, or the lounges but are allowed in our Cathedral Room.

Lodges are serviced by housekeeping after every third night and will require the lodge to be vacant. An interim refresh can be requested.

It is advisable to pre-book all dining, activities and the spa to avoid disappointment.

Please order your lodge dining by 6pm the night prior. Please call the reservations team on 01647 445007 to order your lodge dining prior to arrival.

Breakfast available. Family Dining available everyday 5.00pm – 9.00pm.

Dining

Smith’s Brasserie is open:
Sunday – Tuesday from 12.30pm to 9.30pm
Wednesday – Saturday from 12.30pm to 6.30pm

Great Western Grill is open:
Breakfast: Monday – Sunday from 7:30am to 10:30am (residents only)
Dinner: Wednesday – Saturday from 6.00pm to 9.30pm
Sunday Lunch: 12.30pm to 2.30pm

Everyday from 1.00pm – 4.00pm.

For groups of 5+ a £20 deposit per person is required at the time of booking.

We would best describe the dress code at the Great Western Grill as smart casual. Smart denim is fine, however we request guests don’t come in very casual clothes or sportswear when dining at the Great Western Grill.

Yes, we can prepare many of our dishes in line with allergies and intolerances. We recommend pre-ordering dishes in advance as food is prepared to order.

Children are more than welcome to dine in the Great Western Grill.

We are always happy to look after families with small children and babies in our Smith’s Brasserie, or in one of our lounges.

While our hotel is dog friendly, our dining rooms are not. However, we can supply crates and beds on request for dogs to stay in your room while you dine.

You can dine with your dog in our Cathedral Room, but pre-booking is required. 

Yes, we have a dedicated vegan and vegetarian menu, with zero compromise on quality and variety.

Spa, treatments and packages

Our spa is open Monday – Sunday from 9.00am to 5.00pm.

All treatments will need to be pre-booked.

Spa days are available 7 days a week, subject to availability, and are not available during the school holidays.

Yes absolutely. Spa facility use on its own is £30.00 per person and £15.00 per child under 16 years of age.

We advise booking early to avoid disappointment. All offers are subject to availability and prices fluctuations, depending on time of year and availability.

Spa days require payment in full at the time of booking. All spa days are subject to a 7 day cancellation policy. If for any reason you need to cancel or amend your booking, this must be done 7 days prior to your spa day booking to ensure a full refund can be processed. Any 55 minute TEMPLESPA treatment can be included, and must be booked at the time of reservation.

Pool and gym

Our pool and gym is open Monday – Sunday from 7.00am to 8.00pm.

Yes absolutely. Spa facility use on its own is £30.00 per person and £15.00 per child under 16 years of age.

Please note that dogs are not permitted on the golf course.

Yes, buggies and trolleys are available to use. Please contact the golf shop on 01647 445009 for more information. 

Shorts are permitted and can be worn with sports socks.
Denim jeans, tracksuits and training/gym shoes are not allowed.

Exeter St David’s train station is 17 miles away and Exeter International airport is just 29 miles away. Please contact our events team for advice or assistance in arranging travel to the castle.

Location and directions

Take exit 28 (Whiddon Down) from the A30 and follow the signs for Moretonhampstead A382. Stay on the A382 for 5.5 miles. At the roundabout, turn right to follow signs for Postbridge and Princetown, marked B3212. At the mini roundabout, go straight over. At the next roundabout, turn right again and follow signs for Postbridge and Princetown, B3212. Stay on the B3212 for approximately 1.5 miles. Bovey Castle is on the left-hand side marked by large wrought iron gates and a lodge.

From the A38, take the Drumbridges exit. At the roundabout follow the signs for Moretonhampstead A382. Stay on the A382 for 9 miles.  Turn left to follow signs for Postbridge, marked B3212.  Stay on the B3212 for approximately 1.5 miles. Bovey Castle is on the left-hand side marked by large wrought iron gates and a lodge.

On arrival at Bovey Castle, please proceed the full length of the drive to the main hotel entrance.

We are 29 miles from Exeter Airport and 86 miles from Bristol Airport.

We are 17 miles from Exeter St. David’s Train Station.

All non-residential guests (including members) – £10.00 per hour.

Residential guests* – £25.00 for a minimum 4-hour charge, however we will endeavour to complete a full charge subject to charger availability. A top up charge would then cost £10.00 per hour.

*Charges apply from 1st January 2023.

Bringing your dog

Dogs are not allowed in the Oak Bar, Adam Room or in any of the restaurants.

We do require dogs to be at least 6 months old and house trained.

1 medium size dog is allowed in Single, Mews and Classic rooms and a maximum of 2 medium size dogs in our other room types. Lodges can accommodate up to 2 medium size dogs.

Booking with a dog includes bedding and bowl (cages are available on request).
