Bovey Castle Newsletter – 4th Edition

Pro’s Message

‘The unofficial start of the Golf season has seen the Masters played at Augusta and although the tournament lacked the drama seen in previous years it was great to see Scottie Scheffler win his first major and win his 4th tournament in last 6 starts. He is riding the crest of a wave currently. I must also say it was great that Tiger Woods played 4 rounds of tournament golf. His 1 under par opening round a really impressive effort.

The fixture list was released last week and all tournaments are set up on How Did I Do, anyone wishing to play in the tournaments must enter via How Did I Do. We must also inform that not registering for this, will unfortunately mean your scorecard will not be accepted.

Course Update and Upcoming Work

The cold weather has meant the greens have taken a while to recover from the work carried out in March, however the warmer temperatures should encourage the sufficient growth we need, particularly on the front 9 greens. We have completed work on the 10th hole and will now wait for that area to recover too.
