We took home gold for ‘Large Hotel of the Year’ at the Devon Tourism Awards, and also achieved bronze for Resort Wedding Venue of the Year.

The Devon Tourism Awards celebrate the best tourism attractions, venues and activities the region has to offer. Successful businesses are then fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards, and could then reach the national VisitEngland awards later in 2026.

It comes off the back of a year that has seen a £160,000 investment in the hotel’s golf facilities; including a new golf shop and member’s lounge and an all-weather driving range on its 18-hole Championship course, which has been named one of the top 100 golf courses in Britain.

We have also excelled on the sustainability front, landing a Gold Green Tourism accreditation, which is a world-leading sustainability certification.

It reflects the efforts of our team to adopt regenerative practices, especially with its kitchen garden and wildflower meadow which not only support the our kitchen team with fresh produce, but also provide educational environments for local schools and other guests, demonstrating how hospitality and the environment support each other.

Increased investment in facilities and digital channels has also resulted in room revenue rising by ten per cent year-on-year to over £4.8 million; with new users on our website also surging by 68 per cent.

“Our success starts with our people, and this award is testament to the five-star service they deliver day in, day out to customers, and behind the scenes too – whether it is helping to meet our net zero target by 2040, or helping to create engaging new experiences for our guests, such as the new deer park tour to explore the wildlife on our doorstep.
