This September, our five-star resort in the heart of Dartmoor invites you to discover one of the season’s most unique experiences: an evening of foraging and gin making on the Bovey Castle estate.

On Friday 19th September at 6pm, guests will step into the wild beauty of Dartmoor for an expert-led foraging walk in Devon with Emma Cunis, founder of Dartmoor’s Daughter - Tripadvisor’s number one outdoor activity provider for Dartmoor National Park. Emma, a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader, will guide you through the Bovey Castle grounds, teaching you how to identify and gather edible plants and wild botanicals such as blackberries, elderberries, hawthorn berries, rosehips and sloes. These are the very ingredients that locals have relied on for centuries, and which still thrive in the untamed landscapes of Dartmoor National Park today.

The evening continues in Bovey Castle’s rustic Long Barn, where guests will turn their hand to creating a bespoke gin infusion. Using the fruits of your foraging, you will craft your own fruit-infused gin, blending seasonal flavours into a spirit that is as individual as your walk through the moor. This gin making workshop in Devon is designed to be both creative and memorable. A chance to learn a new skill while enjoying the very best of Dartmoor’s seasonal bounty.
