For a great family day out splashing in the waves and building sandcastles, head to Exmouth Beach. Pack a picnic, your towel and your swimming things and make a day of it! There is plenty to occupy the whole family in the seaside town, from exceptional fish and chip shops and ice cream parlours to crazy golf, arcades, bowling and soft play. The beach is also life guarded and suitable for swimming, surfing and water sports. Exmouth also has plenty of eateries and evening entertainment, so you don’t have to rush back!

Nestled below some spectacular cliffs, Meadfoot Beach offers a quieter beach to escape to. Steeped in history – this grand beach has links to Charles Dawin and Agatha Christie – Meadfoot is a popular retreat for those who love diving and fishing.

Grab your towel and a good book to while away a peaceful afternoon on the shore of the triple award-winning Meadfoot Beach. Why not hire one of the modern chalets and have access to your own seating area and kitchenette?

Located on the mouth of the River Teign estuary, Teignmouth Town Beach is a traditional seaside resort. Its sheltered position means it’s a beach popular with kayakers, paddleboarders and other water-sports activities, as well as providing a safe space for a leisurely swim.

The grand Victorian pier, built over 150 years ago, offers an amusement arcade packed full of games to keep all the family entertained should the weather take a turn for the worst. Also, keep an eye out for dolphins, which have often been spotted just offshore!
