"When words fail Bovey Castle speaks!"

Myself and family have had the good fortune and pleasure of staying at Bovey Castle over a Christmas break, a New Year’s Eve break and have dined there on several occasions. There are numerous beautiful descriptive words I could use to describe my overall experience but words alone are not enough, for Bovey Castle will speak for itself from the moment you arrive to the moment you depart."

"Wonderful hotel"

We spent a long weekend at Bovey Castle and loved every minute of it. Staff are attentive and friendly and the hotel is the perfect place to relax. We had dinner at Smith's Brasserie which had a great menu both for adults and for children. The views from the hotel terrace are amazing."

"Superb 5 star hotel

A perfect weekend location, staff and accommodation all excellent, the only comparison I can make is when we stayed at the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, Bovey Castle is in the same class."

"Absolutely wonderful"

We stayed at Bovey Castle for 5 nights for our mini moon with our 10month old daughter. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and treated like I have never experienced before! There was nothing that the hotel staff couldn't do for us and we were treated like royalty throughout our whole stay.

The hotel itself is beautiful and there is so much to do around the grounds from playing croquet in the gardens to watching hot air balloons glide off into the sky! The first night we had a fine dining experience and the food was delicious, scallops and then beautifully cooked fillet of beef. We then chose to dine on a number of nights in the Smiths Brasserie the atmosphere was very relaxed, the food superb and the staff were fantastic with us. I would high recommend staying at the magnificent Bovey Castle! We will definitely be visiting such a special place again."

"Amazing golf course"

Took my Dad for golf on his 72nd birthday, with my brother and brother in law. The whole experience was good, being greeted as we arrived in the car park, friendly staff and a beautiful course. Would recommend to anyone who wants to play a top golf course in a lovely setting."

"Exceptional experience"

This was my first trip to the UK, and my husband and I decided to take a week long drive throughout the country. We relied on online searches to find interesting locations for our nightly stays, and Bovey Castle looked perfect -- exterior, interior, and grounds. The reality was far more spectacular!

From the scenic drive to its nestled, private location, to the warm and extremely helpful welcome from the porter [forgive me if that is the incorrect title], the experience was already off to an incredible start. We arrived rather late, so he kindly arranged to fit us in for the last dinner spot and showed us to our lovely room. Dinner was the best of our trip and the service was excellent. We slept well and had a delicious full breakfast at the Great Western. The common rooms and outdoor spaces are vast and feel quite private. Every room and patio takes advantage of the absolutely spectacular view.

If you are looking to feel removed from the every-day, to be transported to another time and place where nature and elevated living embraces you, then a stay at Bovey Castle is an absolute must. We both agreed, we must return soon and spend several days here, in this dream location."

“Afternoon tea"

Lovely location, nice restaurant location with attentative staff. Best afternoon tea with the exception of Claridge's. The tea was just right, the sandwich fingers, scones and the cakes were worth the trip."
