WEDDING CAKES BY JEMIMA PADDON
Bovey Castle now offers a wedding cake service by patisserie chef Jemima Paddon.
Jemima Paddon (Barnstaple, 1993) enrolled as a student at catering college to pursue her interest in patisserie, having always baked and experimented with recipes. Jemima then joined The Feathers as their apprentice in 2010, working independently on the hotel's afternoon tea, bread, ice cream and petit fours after the first three months. When Marc Hardiman left The Feathers at Woodstock, Oxfordshire, to join Bovey Castle as it's new head chef, Jemima joined him in Devon as his pastry chef.
The wedding cakes offered by Jemima and Bovey Castle are bespoke and individually designed, following a consultation between the bride and groom and Jemima. A cake tasting is also available upon request and can be organised in conjuction with a menu tasting.
Cake flavours include fruit, vanilla sponge, chocolate sponge, chocolate orange sponge, apple and cinnamon, lemon and carrot.
