Martin Whitley’s School of Falconry comes daily to the hotel so that you can experience the thrill of seeing this exceptional collection of birds.

The newest addition to the birds of prey to be seen over the skies of Bovey Castle is Rosie, our very own American bald eagle who is set to become the star of Martin’s displays with us. At the other end of the scale, we are often joined in the hotel by one of Martin's smallest birds of prey, Archimedes. This little owl has become a familiar face among our receptionists as he meets and greets guests most mornings.

Our Falconry Experience  or Eagle Experience can be booked through our resort desk. We make all the arrangements so that you are assured of one-to-one time learning how to handle birds and flying them in their natural habitat - an exhilarating and unforgettable experience. Time to Fly combines the luxury experience of Dartmoor living at Bovey Castle with the opportunity to experience birds of prey like never before. During the two-night break, your stay will include a 90-minute Falconry Experience followed by a 90-minute Moor Hawk Walk the next day.
